"I've always wanted to join a choir.....
now I have and it's great!" "Singing makes me feel great!"
Do you enjoy singing?
Roade Community Choir provides an opportunity for singers of all abilities to sing in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
We meet on Wednesday evenings, during term time, at Roade Methodist Church in the village of Roade- situated off the A508, 4 miles south of Northampton. The Methodist Church can be found in the centre of the village, opposite Roade Primary School, next door to The Cock at Roade.
Rehearsals begin at 7.30pm and finish at 9.15pm, with a break at 8.30pm to give us the opportunity to meet new members and catch up with current members.
Everyone is welcome! No audition is necessary.
The choir was formed in 1995 with 11 members. We now have over 30 members who regualarly attend. Others may visit us as and when it suits them.
We are a mixed choir and welcome singers of all abilities from age of 15 upwards. Whilst reading music is of benefit, more important is enthusiasm and the desire to sing and have fun.
Under the leadership of Ian Riley, our Music Director, we sing a wide variety of music, classical, modern and music from the shows. We often take suggestions from our members and we are always looking for new pieces to add to our repertoire. We perform at least 2 concerts a year, Christmas and Summer and then look to perform others if the occasion arises.
Our rehearsals roughly follow school term dates. Termly fees are £35- cheques made payable to Roade Community Choir- and there are concessions for under 18's. Other concessions may be available- this can be discussed with our treasurer.
